I know from speaking to people in West Lancashire that access to public transport is a massively important issue for local residents.
Skelmersdale has been left without a train station since 1958 and with a population of 40,000, is the largest town in the whole of the North of England without a station.
Constituents are constantly raising the lack of access to rail services in Skelmersdale with me. It’s such an important issue to our community that I took the earliest opportunity to raise it in Parliament, asking the Government how they plan to ensure that our communities have the access they need to rail.
I am committed to fighting for better services for our community but I need to know what matters to you. That’s why I have opened my West Lancashire Transport Survey, so I can hear from you what you find important when travelling on pubic transport.
Please do make sure you take the survey and share amongst your family and friends so I can hear from them too.
