Reverse Conservative closure of A&E service

Under the Conservatives, the children’s A&E at Ormskirk hospital began ‘temporarily’ closing overnight in April 2020.

Two years later, the closure is still in place. I will press the government to reverse the closure and fight to deliver first-rate healthcare for you.

Labour has a 10 year plan for the NHS which will be implemented from day one of a new Government. The next Labour Government will undertake the biggest expansion of medical training in history, paid for by abolishing non-doms, to give the NHS the staff it needs to treat patients on time. Our Plan will see A&Es like Ormskirk functioning properly so services are available when you need them.

Stand up for residents through the Conservative’s cost of living crisis

The Conservatives have had 13 years and have crashed the economy, the people in West Lancashire have been left paying the price. Labour has a plan to support you through the cost of living with measures.

I will be a strong voice for you in Parliament, fighting for action on the cost of living crisis and making sure that West Lancashire doesn’t get left behind.

Reduce fuel bills

Labour’s plan will reduce fuel bills across West Lancashire with measures like, taking VAT off energy bills, insulating over 32,000 homes in West Lancashire and establish Great British Energy – a publicly owned renewable energy generation company to end reliance on expensive oil and gas imports and keep the ban on fracking once and for all.

Keep you safe

Labour’s plan will see 13,000 more community police officers on our streets. I’ll make sure West Lancashire gets its fair share of extra bobbies on the beat – and I will work with local police to crack down on anti-social behaviour to keep our communities safe.

Fighting for a Skelmersdale Train Station

The Conservatives have failed to invest in rail and bus services in West Lancashire.

I will campaign for the long-awaited new station in Skelmersdale and I will work with Labour colleagues to deliver improved bus and rail services across West Lancashire.
