I’m pleased to announce the Chair of the Neighbourhood Board for Pride in Place as Kevin Davidson, CEO of SHARES Lancashire.
Labour’s investment will see Digmoor, Skelmersdale receive £2 million from the Government every year for 10 years through Pride in Place.
I’ve secured the funding for Digmoor and I want to empower the local community to make decisions about where they live.
A Neighbourhood Board, made up of local people, will decide how the money is spent in the community. West Lancashire Borough Council and I have now recruited a Chair of the Board, following a recruitment process.
Kevin grew up in Digmoor, attended local schools and has spent more than two decades working in and for the Skelmersdale community.
Kevin is the Chief Executive SHARES Lancashire, which aims to enhance educational outcomes and community wellbeing in partnership with 31 local schools and is a governor at three Skelmersdale primary schools. Digmoor residents will receive further information on how they can get involved in Pride in Place.
I’m delighted to have Kevin as the Chair of our Neighbourhood Board for Pride in Place. Kevin’s knowledge of the local area and his passion for helping Skelmersdale will be a huge asset to the programme.
Local people will soon be hearing from us about how to get more involved, and I can’t wait to see this programme start to come to life.
Too many people in Digmoor and the surrounding areas in Skelmersdale feel that previous governments have left them behind. With Pride in Place, Labour is investing in our community and giving local people an opportunity to make a real difference in Skem for generations to come.
