On Friday 26th April I had a lovely afternoon in Newburgh.
I met first with the excellent staff and students at Newburgh Church of England Primary. After being quizzed by the School Council, I was treated to a brilliant show about climate change by Years 3 & 4. Isn’t it great that the children are being taught to think about the world around them from such an early age?
Then it was off down the road to visit the Appleton Fields Association. Dedicated volunteers are working to make the fields, just off Cobbs Brow Lane, an easily accessible place of natural beauty for our local community, and I was delighted to learn more about their work.
Thanks to both Newburgh School and the Appleton Fields Association for having me. They’re a credit to Newburgh and to West Lancashire.
