Ashley talking to local residents at Community Conversation on public transport, 28th February.

On 28th February I held a Community Conversation on public transport, at the Ecumenical Centre in Skelmersdale. Several local residents came along to tell me what they thought needed to be done. Amongst other things, we discussed bus services, footpaths and cycling routes, and the business case for a station in Skem.

I thoroughly enjoyed the evening. It was a very productive discussion thanks to the enthusiasm and expertise of those who attended. Thanks to their contributions, I have a stronger understanding of what needs to be done about public transport in West Lancashire.

It’s really important to me that I hear as many voices from the community as possible, so I know I’m fighting for the right things for you in Parliament.

I feel very encouraged by the success of the Community Conversation. I will carry on fighting for improvements to public transport in West Lancashire, and making sure that my efforts on all issues are guided as far as possible by the views of my constituents.

Thanks to all who attended, and to the folks at the Eccy Centre for letting us have the room.
