I’m celebrating the news that West Lancashire is set to receive funding for a Youth Hub from the Labour Government. On 16 June, almost 180 new Youth Hubs were confirmed by the Department for Work and Pensions.
Young people aged 16-24 in the area will benefit from employment support, skills training and wider services to help them move into work.
The hub will include integration with other local services such as health, housing and wellbeing. There will be dedicated, joined-up support from Job Centre Plus work coaches and local partners and employers.
Located in the heart of West Lancashire, this hub will make support for young people in the area accessible, meeting them where they are.
I’m delighted that West Lancashire has been confirmed to receive funding for a Youth Hub.
Getting young people into employment, education or training is something I feel passionate about and I know this Youth Hub will be transformative.
Being a young person is tough, and even more so when you’re not in education, employment or training. That’s why it’s brilliant to see that the support in this hub will be holistic, covering mental health and housing so that young people can receive support on a range of issues.
